ITC Mission Sunehra Kal 2024-25

Integrated Development Initiatives & Alternatives Foundation, INDIA-NGO, carried out various WASH in School activities with the CSR support of ITC Limited, in Tiruvotriyur. An MOU between ITC and the INDIA-NGO was signed on 7th November 2024

The overall objective of the activities is as follows

1. Promote equal access to water, Sanitation, and hygiene facilities for the government schools of Tiruvotriyur zone by constructing new Child-friendly, gender-friendly WASH facilities.
2. Sustainability promotion for WASH facilities through capacity-building activities and active participation of all stakeholders.
3. Improving Hand-Washing Facilities and Reusing the Used Water for Gardening/Tree Planting
4. Construction/ renovation of Anganwadi centers as child-friendly
5. Formation and strengthening of Child Cabinets for Sustainable use and maintenance of Wash infrastructures.

The following are the various activities undertaken by our NGO as per the above MOU during 2024-25

1. 1. Construction of a new Gender friendly WASH facility in Jaigopal Garodia Higher Secondary School, Tiruvotriyur 
   2. Construction of a New Dining Hall Building in Chennai Middle School, Thiyagi Sathya Murthy Nagar, Tiruvotriyur
   3. Construction of a Hand-Washing Station in Chennai Middle School, Thiyagi Sathya Murthy Nagar, Tiruvotriyur, with a wise water management activity of reusing the used water for plantations through an underground pipeline system
   4. Improving an existing Hand Wash Station in Jaigopal Garodia Government Higher Secondary School with a wise water management activity of reusing the used water for plantations through an underground pipeline system
   5. Strengthening of SMCs/SDMCs in 10 Schools
   6. Formation and strengthening of Child Cabinets in 10 Schools
   7. Organizing various awareness events for Teachers and Students
